Questions Women Ask: Is my boyfriend cheating on me?
Have you ever been tempted to sneak a peek at your boyfriend’s chat while he’s chatting? If so, you are not alone. Many women have often wondered if their man is cheating on them. This usually happens as a result of some changes in behavior.
Why does it matter?
You are worried that something is wrong.
What Would You Do
Elsie’s relationship with Dan is nearing two years old. What used to be bliss is slowly becoming something that makes Elsie feel sad.
She wants to believe it’s all in her head. Since her best friend moved out of town, she has become a bit paranoid. She fears that the people she loves will leave her.
But is she really being paranoid?
There are signs that make her believe her boyfriend may be cheating on her. For example, he no longer visits her as he used to at first. Then, he used to drive some miles just to come to see her and would even invite her over.
He also no longer calls her as much as he used to. Elsie believes it’s not because of his work. He’s always been a busy man. So, what’s changing? Why can’t he have time for her nor keep doing the little things?
Is he really cheating on me?
If you were Elsie, what would you do?
When one begins to suspect that their partner is cheating on them, it means trust in the relationship is waning.
Healthy closed romantic relationships are built on trust. When we trust our partners, we believe it when they promise us commitment, and even when things begin to dwindle, we hold on to that thread of hope. We believe they’ll be true to their word because we trust them.
This trusting someone isn’t as easy as it sounds, anyway—especially if you have got trust issues.
You see, we live in a world where many people break their promises like it is nothing. They tell lies and don’t feel terrible about it. This makes it really hard to trust anyone because we might feel that everyone lies and cheats.
What were your past relationships like? Did you have any issues with trust? Did someone ever break a promise that made you feel no one deserves to be trusted?
If yes, then you have really got to work on your trust issues. Get therapy if you have to.
No Blame Game. No Awkwardness
On days when you ask yourself, Is my boyfriend cheating on me, realize that your man might be cheating. He also might not. Give him the benefit of the doubt and try not to be mean or weird to him.
If you become mean to him and later discover he never cheated all along, you will feel terrible, and the damage to your relationship would have already been done.
Be There For Him
Your partner might be a strong person. But strong people go through stuff too. He might be acting awkward because of the stuff he is going through, stuff he is keeping from you. Hard times have the ability to change a person’s routine, you know?
Listen to him more. Communicate. Be that partner he really needs.
When your boyfriend is cheating on you, he’ll most probably be signs. You should look out for these signs and try to read meaning from them.
How has your partner been lately? Does he come home all drunk? Are there lipstick stains on his shirt? Does he spend the night on the phone with someone else?
If your observations point to the likelihood that he is cheating, then he really might be cheating.
How do I deal with my trust issues? How do I make him feel safe?
