How to Have a Wet Dream: 10 Ways to Have Orgasms During Your Sleep

by | Sensual Intimacy

Jan 25, 2023

Most guys are conversant with what a wet dream is and what it feels like. Of course, wet dreams are an important sign of puberty. They come so easily then; so often, it may even be a problem. But in adult life, there are often some hindrances to getting a wet dream. If you’re wondering how to have a wet dream, there are many ways to achieve it, letting the room feel cold and comfortable while you sleep, reading a lot of erotica, not eating so much, and having some images in your head before going to bed.

In this guide, I have packed some of the best-wet dream tips that will make a huge difference in shaping your dreams.

Here is how to have a wet dream. Ten ways to have those maddening orgasms even in your sleep.

1. Allow Yourself to Fly Free

The truth remains that if you are obstructing yourself, you may not get as many wet dreams as you want to.

We understand that you may feel weird about wanting a wet dream. Maybe even feel guilty. You are not alone. A lot of people feel this at the start, but it gets better.

Let yourself know that it is fine to want what you want. It is fine. As long as no one is being harmed, if you want to have a wet dream, it is fine, and you should go for it.

2. Understand That It Might Not Always Work

The goal of this is to shred your guilt about wanting a wet dream completely.

I once interviewed someone who told me that not being able to get a wet dream when he wanted to make him spiral into guilt.

This happened because he did not understand that no one ever had much control over his own dreams. By “much” control, I mean that no one can boldly say: “Today, I will have a wet dream, and tomorrow, I will not.”

Let go of the belief that you can control everything. You can’t.

3. Lie on Your Stomach When You Sleep

There is striking evidence that your sleeping position can affect your dreams. Even though it might not be so comfortable if you are one who loves to lie on their side when you are trying to have wet dreams, lie on your stomach. A study shows that sleeping in the prone position may promote dreaming of sexual dreams,

If you want to, you can use pillows. I suggest that you feel as comfortable as you can. We dream more when we are comfortable.

Do not put on too tight clothes when you are in bed. This can make it seem like you are restricted. Free your genital area. If you sleep alone in the room, sleep without any clothes on—it works pretty fine. (Read: Does Penis Size Matter to Women?)

4. Let The Room Feel Cold and Comfortable

When you struggle to sleep, you may have some problems navigating your dreams if you are not comfortable at all.

You should be sure that the room is comfortable so you can feel alone and yourself.

To truly experience a wet dream, you have to let go. You have to be willing to allow yourself to step into the dream, to enter a zone where nothing makes you feel weird.

This is why I suggested earlier that you take off your clothes, so you don’t feel too awake.

5. Read a Lot of Erotica

Usually, we dream about the things that are on our minds. If you constantly think about sex or at least know so much about it, your mind can frame pictures of sex into your head, and you will have a wet dream.

I suggest you read erotica because, unlike porn, erotica is not so addictive.

Plus, reading does not produce the same effects as watching.

Typically, when you watch porn, you are shown what they want you to see. But when you read erotica, you create your own sexual images.

And that is just what wet dreams are: creating your own sexual images so that they show up in your dream and make you get an orgasm.

6. Graphic Novels

For some reason, I am quite anti-porn. And this is not only because underage porn has made it a lot into the web these days, which is very bad. It is also because porn is quite addictive. It is also capable of ruining your sex life. Porn is not real. And when people who are in relationships try to replicate what they find in porn in their relationships, the result is often a messed up relationship sex life.

Exploring that, though, is beyond the scope of this article. Let’s go back to how you can get a wet dream.

Instead of porn, read a graphic novel.

7. Don’t Masturbate Before You Sleep

You may be tempted to think that masturbating before you sleep will make you have sleep sex better. But I think it does the opposite.

The reason is simple: masturbation can have an effect on reducing your sexual tension.

Sexual tension often is what shows up in your dream.

It is probably best to go to bed really horny. That horniness, you can count on it, is going to show up in your dream. The hornier you are, the more likely that you will have a sex dream.

8. Do Not Eat so Much Before Bed Time

The reason is this: eating so much may mess up the quality of your sleep. When you are too full before you sleep, there is a big chance you may wake up at night and go take a pee or poo.

That disturbance in sleep is going to mess up the rapid eye movement sleep cycle.

The rapid eye movement sleep is where most of the dreaming happens. If something messes it up, you may not have that wet dream you crave. (Read: 10 Secrets to Having the Best Make Out Sessions)

9. Have Some Images in Your Head Before Going to Bed

This is where graphic books and erotic novels come in handy.

Lie comfortably on the bed, and think about the sexiest thing you have seen or heard, or read. Create up to two or three scenes in your head.

Drift into sleep.

10. Enjoy your Dream

Seriously, do enjoy your dream. I am almost envious of you right now.

It is possible to have wet dreams even in your adult life. But it does not always happen. It would be best to enjoy all of it when it does happen.
