10 Excuses Women Make When They are Not Interested in You

For some, it is hard to tell whether a woman’s actions come from an absolute lack of interest or from her playing hard to get. For others, not so much. It’ll save you a lot of time and emotions if you can spot these 10 excuses women make when they are not that interested in you.

1. I Don’t Want to Talk About it

This is usually the first excuse and shows a lack of interest on many grounds. We all like to talk about ourselves and the things that mean a lot to us. But we seldom talk to just anyone—we talk to people whom we find interesting and able to hold our interest.

When a woman tells you, repeatedly at least, that she is not interested in talking, then she is saying she is not interested in letting you know about her—just as she is not interested in knowing about you.

There is little you can do to change this, but going off contact with her for a while can help. We notice the absence and often crave a thing the more when we feel like it is eluding us.

Your absence just might make her a little more interested.

2. I have a Boyfriend

This is a common excuse women make when they are not interested in you. Women realize that men who love commitment and have quite strong values almost never want to interfere with a person’s relationship.

So, when a man they don’t find interesting comes along, the first thing she thinks to say is: “I have a boyfriend.”

I like to interpret those words to mean: “I am not interested.”

The best thing to do when a woman tells you this is back away and move on. Don’t try to change her mind; it almost never works—the harder you try, the bigger the chances that you will blow things out of proportion.

3. Oh, I Forgot

This isn’t quite an excuse. When she tells you she forgot, she actually did. And that is because she had not been paying attention in the first place.

Women like to pay attention to things that hold their interest. To things that don’t? They simply just don’t care that much.

She will forget little details about you; might forget your special days, might forget a big win you told her about, etc.

When you notice a woman is always forgetting stuff about you, then it is time you let her be. You don’t matter to her as much as you would love.

4. Can We Talk About This Later?

This is a more polite way of saying that she does not want to talk about it.

If a woman tells you this on more than three occasions, especially if you had been telling her about yourself and your wins, then she is saying she is not quite interested in you.

A lot of women are big on communication and will not turn down a chance to talk to someone they deeply desire.

What can you do about this? Well, nothing. You can just allow her some space to think about you and miss you. It may not happen, but there’s a slim chance it might.

5. I am Sorry, I will be Busy

A woman who truly likes and is interested in you is almost always waiting on you to set up a date. She is waiting to say, ‘Yes, I’ll come.’

A woman who is not interested, however, is hoping you don’t ask. She knows she will turn you down when you do.

If a woman tells you she will be busy more than two times in a row when you try to set up dates, understand that she is not interested.

This is especially true if she has not been busy with work during that period and if you have found her online on countless occasions.

6. I am Sorry, I Can’t Make it Anymore

This is called flaking. It happens all the time. Women agree to show up for dates, and at the end of the day, they decide that they won’t be coming anymore.

This is the red flag of disinterest. When women make this excuse, know that they are not interested. It can be excused if it happens once. But more than once? It shows some level of disregard for your time. She does not respect you that much.

7. I Wasn’t With My Phone

We live in a digital age. Smartphones and social media have become a big part of our lives. Every day, hundreds of millions of people use their phones and social media.

Chances are, the girl you like has her phone in her hand right now. Chances are, she saw it ring but refused to pick it up—it was purposeful.

If she apologizes for not taking your calls more than thrice, then she is not interested. This is especially true if she did not call back. A woman who is interested will call you back when she misses your calls.

8. Sorry, I Don’t Like Texting

Granted, there are a large number of women who don’t like texting. But you can always tell a woman who is lying about it.

If she is a writer and writes long paragraphs every day on her social media, then she is likely lying about not liking texts. What writer doesn’t love texting?

If she spends quite a lot of time on Messenger apps like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc., but tells you she does not like to text, she is just messing with you, and it is an excuse women make to say to men they are not interested.

Only texting happens on messenger apps; a person who does not love texting will not spend that much time on these apps.

9. I Don’t See You That Way

Many women are more direct with these things. Direct women can usually be found saying stuff like this. They will tell you they don’t see you that way.

They’ll say you are too good for them and that you deserve someone better. It is all a hoax. It is just an excuse that means she is not exactly interested.

10. I am Dealing with Something

When a woman tells you this, she is saying she needs time alone with herself. That is, she no longer wants you around. This can happen for a number of reasons. But it is safe to assume she is not that interested, especially if you have seen the other signs.

Summary

A woman who is interested will not give you excuses!
